Dear Residents of Winsham,
The Jubilee Hall is launching its
lottery appeal once again, and I hope that you will continue to support
this invaluable contribution to the hall’s finances.
At the start of the 2022, the Jubilee
Hall Management Committee faces another challenging year. A third year
of living with Corona virus! Another year of uncertainty but tempered
with hope that with the high level of vaccination in our community, the
worst is over.
Regardless of the pandemic, the
day-to-day task of maintaining the fabric of our rather elderly but well
situated, well-appointed hall (it will be 140 years old next birthday)
is always with us.
Although the hall has been able to
operate without undue restriction, during the last six months or so, the
Delta and Omicron variants have cast their shadow, and we have not been
as busy as we would be in more normal times, mainly due to concerns over
possible contagion; this has resulted in unexpected cancellations, which
in turn has reduced our revenue from hiring.
To protect our financial reserves, we
have temporarily put major projects such as the strengthening of the
rear boundary wall on hold, only concerning ourselves with maintenance
issues that have a direct impact on the day-to-day running of the hall.
Nevertheless, this year we are calling this fund-raising effort the
Jubilee Hall’s ‘Looking Forward’ lottery 2022. Looking forward to
brighter times!

rules and a link to a downloadable application form can be found below.
Do please buy tickets for the lottery
and help us to protect the building that plays such a central part in
the life of our parish and village. As well as applying for tickets
directly, they will also be available from Winsham Shop from the
beginning of February, and sales will continue until the end of March.
Alternatively, you can purchase them direct. Full details of how to do
this can be found on the attached application form.

‘Looking Forward’ Lottery 2022
Details
A single
ticket for the whole year costs £10 and entitles you to take part in
twelve monthly draws (drawn quarterly), each with a first prize of £25,
Each month there is also a second prize of £10 and a third prize of an
additional number for the monthly draws for the remainder of that year.
At Christmas there is an additional Bonus Draw-First Prize £60, Second
Prize £40, Third Prize £25.
Tickets can be purchased direct from Winsham Shop
from Tuesday, 1st February 2022.
The closing date
for getting your tickets is Thursday, 31st March 2022. The
first of the quarterly draws - for January, February, and March - will
be held at the Jubilee Café on Thursday, 21st April 2022.
Winners will be notified, and the results will also be published on the
Parish Web Site and on the Jubilee Hall notice board.
Bonus Tickets:
If you buy three
tickets (in one name) you will be entitled to a fourth ticket FREE!
Just buy your tickets
in the usual way, and your extra ticket number will be allocated to you
before the first Quarter's Draw in April and will be eligible for all
the other draws throughout the year. Purchasers of multiples of three
tickets will enjoy pro-rata treatment.
Details will be published after the closing date along with the
numbers and ownership of the bonus numbers.
Bonus ticket numbers
will not be allocated at time of purchase, to avoid creating extra work
for the staff at Winsham Shop, who help us so much.
