JUBILEE HALL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

General Statement of Policy- Protection of Children

Recognising that the prime purpose of the Jubilee Hall Management Committee is to provide a safe facility which the community can hire for many purposes within the circumstances defined with its published Conditions of Hire, it is our policy to:

Ensure that the fabric of the hall, fixtures and fittings and safety procedures are designed to be as ‘child friendly’ as possible, and include these considerations in the regular risk assessments carried out by the hall’s management.

Bring to the attention to hirers of the Jubilee Hall, the obligations placed upon them when organising events at which children are to be present, as detailed in the Conditions of Hire.

Reserve the right to refuse bookings, at the absolute discretion of the Jubilee Hall Management Committee, should they feel concern as to the hirer’s suitability for organising an event at which children are likely to be present, or have concerns relating to compliance with UK Child Protection legislation, as far as known to the Committee.

Reserve the right to exclude children from an event, at the absolute discretion of the Jubilee Hall Management Committee. i.e. the screening of a film with adult themes.
